  30. Laughing at Aches & Pains (嘲笑疼痛) Topic: 30. Laughing at Aches & Pains Yoga Class Notes: One of 40 Foundation Exercises Every now and then, some part of my body hurts. I don't really question it — after all, I've lived more than half my life. How can I expect to have the body of an 18 or 22-year-old? Plus, I really love to keep my body moving. Every week, I make sure to do cardio, strength training, qigong, swimming, light dancing, and housework. For someone like me, it's no surprise that I feel pain now and then — either from overusing my body or using it the wrong way. (Got to be careful!) Whenever I feel pain, besides doing the right physical exercises, I now also laugh at the pain. I learned this from Laughter Yoga. Wherever it hurts, I pat that spot and laugh out loud! At first, the "Ha ha ha!" sounds fake — and I’m used to that kind of forced laughter. The pain is still there, but the tight feeling loosens up a little, and at least my mind doesn...

  29. Childlike Laughter (童真笑聲) Topic: 29. Childlike Laughter Yoga Class Notes: One of 40 Foundation Exercises Laughing like a kid isn’t new in our laughter yoga family—it’s something we do almost every day (Childlike Laughter). Before joining laughter yoga, I can’t even remember the last time I laughed like a child. The exercise is super easy: stretch your arms out, take a deep breath, pull your fists to your chest, hold for three seconds, then laugh out loud while exhaling. You can pat your head or slap your thighs, running around like a kid, feeling carefree like you’re young again, haha! At first, I thought it was a bit silly, but now I love doing these “silly” things! With hundreds of people joining online, it’s so fun, and after laughing, my mood feels light, and my tight shoulders relax, Then continue to work, It’s totally worth it.  If you want to know more about laughter yoga, check the link below  https://www.laughteryoga.org/international-laughter-club/ or emai...

  28. Breathe Stretch and Laugh ( 呼吸伸展和大笑) https://laughter-yoga-knowledge.blogspot.com/2025/10/28-breathe-stretch-and-laugh.html     Topic: 28. Breathe Stretch and Laugh   Yoga Class Notes: One of 40 Foundation Exercises   It was time for the "Breathe, Stretch and Laugh" part again. I interlocked my fingers in front of my chest, took a slow, deep breath, and stretched my arms up. I could feel my spine stretching. As I tried to straighten my arms fully, I thought, "Well, my body is more cooperative today." I held the pose for three seconds, then as I exhaled, I let out a hearty laugh while slowly lowering my arms. That laughter was pure; it didn't come from a joke, but from a sense of release. I laughed until my face muscles relaxed, and I even let out a little hiccup by accident, which made me laugh at myself. Those few seconds felt like hitting the reset button for both my body and mood. I always feel really refreshed afterwards. Especia...

27. Three lobes of the lungs (肺的三個葉)

Topic: 27. Three lobes of the lungs Yoga Class Notes: One of 40 Foundation Exercises In (Laughter Yoga) class, the (three lobes of the lungs) exercise is something we do often. I really like it; it feels like playing a game with my own body. For the upper lobe, I put my hands behind my shoulders, in a kind of "reverse prayer" position. When I inhale, I can really feel my upper chest opening up a bit. After holding my breath for three seconds, I let the air out with laughter. The laughter sounds so loud, it makes me laugh even more. But the uncle in the picture has a frozen shoulder today, so he can't bend his arms and just stretches both hands straight above his head. Next: it's the middle lobe's turn. I raise my hands above my head, making the "Mountain Pose" prayer hands. I feel like a tree welcoming the sunlight, breathing in deeply, and then laughing to spread the energy out. As for the lower lobe, I stretch my hands forward, inhale, and then suddenl...

  26. Signature laughter exercise ( 標誌性笑聲練習) Topic: 26. Signature laughter exercise   Yoga Class Notes: One of 40 Foundation Exercises   In my online laughter yoga class, I tried this signature laughter exercise. I put my arms out in front of my chest, made fists, and took a deep breath. I pulled my fists close to my heart. The leader kept saying, "Hold it, hold it, hold it," and I held my breath. It felt like I was holding back a big sneeze. Then, we all burst out laughing and threw our arms up to the sky. The laughter came out right away and I couldn't stop it—I didn't want to stop it. I laughed and swayed my body, waving my arms around, as if some gentle music was guiding me. It felt so simple to be this light. When it was over, I felt much lighter. It was like I had shaken off all the stress from the whole week.     26.
